Janet Taylor
Janet Taylor’s paintings are explorations of the poetry of gesture and the possibilities of materials, including paint, graphite, pigment and crayon. Her work translates experience and thought into richly layered paintings with a resonant sense of place.
Taylor grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and received a BFA from Queen’s University. Following her degree, she pursued a career in graphic design, interactive media and photography, all of which inform her work today. In 2016 Taylor returned to fine art and has been building her studio practice since then. Her work is in collections in Canada, Bermuda, the US, the UK, and has been seen in Contemporary Artist, Style at Home and Uppercase magazines, and on HGTV Home Tours. Most recently, Taylor’s paintings travelled to art fairs in Miami, Santa Fe, and New York.
Taylor creates full-time from her studio in Gravenhurst, Ontario.
