Canadian-Quebecois sculptor Bruno Weegun Tomei was born in a small mining town named Schefferville in Quebec’s Great North. He now resides in Magog creating unique one of a kind pieces. As a Pisces, Bruno finds profound joy in crafting pieces that symbolize the diverse facets of this zodiac sign, particularly through his acclaimed series, “The Pesca”, a homage to his Italian heritage and his father.
Bruno’s sculptures are imbued with a deep concern for environmental preservation and the welfare of wildlife impacted by human activity. Each piece is composed of driftwood or rustic barn plank and recycled materials gathered from the rugged beaches of Gaspe. The fish are created from recycled cotton fibres and modeling clay, all fashioned by hand. The finished piece is coated with polymer varnish and anti-UV epoxy.
